Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas! Hope everyone have the best day ever! This painting is for my family and my friends and whoever visits my blog.

I took an Intermediate 3D Modeling class in Fall 2011, teaching by Dave Guslin.  Our assignment was to model a LOTR's cave troll using Maya and Z-Brush.  While modeling is not my focus, I've learnt a lot from this class. Gotta admit I didn't have fun with it because it is really really hard! But here it is...Cave Troll!
Like last time, this wouldn't be possible without my friends help... literally!  Thanks to Eunsoo Jeong, Jimi Youm, Taylor Hsieh, Meghan Auer, Kevin Hom, Eryn O' Suileabhain, Riz Azad, and Annlyn Huang.

3D Modeling!

This is not a painting and it is not the best 3d modeling in the world but I think it deserves to be shown here. Marty was right! "if you put your mind into it, you can accomplish anything!" It was my first time using/taking Maya class and it kicked my butt! While modeling is probably the last thing I want to do, I proud of the result of this one. After countless of hours of learning, trying, fixing, and starting over!...night by night, week by week, month by month... And with help of all my friends in our program. I've done this!!! (PS. Lots of thanks to Ensoo, Craig Kitzmann, Astro, and everybody else!)

Lady Agnew of Lochnaw

A portrait study of John Singer Sargent's painting. I love this painting of Sargent so much! I think it's one of the most beautiful portrait painting I've ever seen! I need to practice painting people more. I always have a hard time figure out skin tone. Practice from master copy is obviously helpful for me.

Goes on and on!

Fun Caricatures!

Plein Air

Acrylic on canvas.  Really fun to switch back to traditional paints.  Also plein air is another good way of meditation....another good way to get yourself out of frustrations....but wait!...sometimes getting more frustrations when I dont like how it turns out! LOL

Sir Gawain and the Green Knight

This is the first project I got from advance visdev class early in the spring semester. Any comment would be thankful!

The Flying Carpets

A final project from my advance visdev class. A story of a boy and his magic carpet. I'm quite happy with the color script (not the story moments and the character lol) It is my first time to do color script tho. There are still more room to improve. As you might notice, the story moment wasn't really fully developed and painted. The revision will come for sure later this summer! Please leave some comments would be great help!
